Back to Shinjuku

We make it back to the Shinjuku station to meet our cousin Fumiko for a late lunch. We saw this street artist playing his instruments and Miles was amazed with the music he was making. Fumiko took us to a place that specializes in Tonkatsu. Tonkatsu is a fried pork cutlet but I think it can be other kinds of meat too. The crust is very crispy but the meat is very tender. This place actually slices the meat very thin and rolls it up to make the cutlet. Everything on the menu looks so good that it is hard to decide what to order. There are sesame seeds and a mortar and pestle for each person to grind their own seeds then mix the seeds with several choices of sauces. The sauces are sweet or spicy and taste really good with the fried pork cutlets.

After we eat, Fumiko takes Mom and I to great store call Yuzuwaya. She picked this store because I told her I was interested in buying some japanese fabric. This store has all kinds of craft things. I bought some beautiful fabric, craft books, magazines, stickers, post it notes and gorgeous stationery. After our shopping trip we stopped in to a little cafe for some tea and cake.
